Donald P. Oswald, Advisor
Mr. Oswald has broad domestic and international business experience and has spent twelve years living and working in Asia and Europe. His experience includes leading mergers & acquisition initiatives, business development with overseas companies and large-scale project management in broadband and wireless communications, cable television, Internet technologies, and telecommunications. Mr. Oswald has been CEO of both pan-Asia and pan-European telecommunications companies as well as two successful startup companies and will be an advisor to United Max on technical, management and financial issues.
Mr. Oswald started his career with the NY Telephone company as an electrical engineer and was quickly promoted to a manager in the International Division of NYNEX, now Verizon. Mr. Oswald was responsible for establishing relations with PTTs and other foreign governmental organizations in connection with business development objectives for NYNEX. He negotiated various agreements with telecoms operators, including Memoranda of Understanding on behalf of several NYNEX subsidiaries and developed strategies for the provision of value-added services and partnerships for global network services in conjunction with European operators. Led bid teams in the submission of competitive tenders for the provision of banking and financial networks and was responsible for the evaluation of value-added service providers for possible investment or acquisition.
He was assigned to Hong Kong as the Senior Director for business development for North Asia in 1990. His team was successful in winning bids for a cable TV license in Hong Kong as well as a cellular telephone license in Taiwan. His division also negotiated an equity stake in a Nissan led cellular company in Japan and sold the NYNEX multi-million billing system to the newly formed company, TU-KA.
After two years in Brussels negotiating NYNEX participation in the cellular company Orange, he returned to Asia in 1994 where he was assigned to Asia Telecom, the joint venture between Verizon Corp (the successor to NYNEX) and CP Group in Bangkok, Thailand. The project was a CATV company and Mr. Oswald led the group that built the company to 200,000 subscribers.
In 1998 Mr. Oswald was then recruited as the President and CEO of RSL Com Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Oswald negotiated acquisitions of operators in Hong Kong and Japan and established a joint venture with NTT for frame relay operations.
In 2000 Mr. Oswald moved to London to head up All Tel Holdings, a private telecommunications company with holdings in Europe. One of their companies providing services to hotels in France was recently acquired by Societe Generale. The technology companies of All Tel Holdings providing conferencing services to China, Japan, and other parts of Asia.
Now based in Denver, Colorado, he is the founder of a pollution free dry cleaning business in Vail, Colorado that in two years has grown to a million dollar revenue business and is currently negotiating a merger with a Summit County environmentally friendly cleaner. An electrical engineer from the University of New Hampshire, Mr. Oswald’s combination of technical skills and management in Asia make him a valuable addition to the United Max advisory team.
