Bruce Braatelien, Managing Director
Bruce Braatelien is an international finance and engineering expert formerly based in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia. Mr. Braatelien, founder and managing member of United Max International, has dedicated extensive time and travel over the past ten years to Southeast Asia project development. Investing his own money, Mr. Braatelien has secured the Casino license, delivered the expatriate property development project in Cambodia, along with property financing/leasing company to their final stages. Building on his extensive knowledge and network, established over ten years in Southeast Asia business, Mr. Braatelien provides United Max International that unique combination for leadership with practical implementation skills and vision.

His international career started with Greenglobe Engineering in 1990 and served as Chief Operations Officer. The company was a waste management and clean up company that specialized in cleaning up waste water, ground contamination and composting of biodegradable waste. They also helped develop a line of bacteria for use in waste clean up, industrial cleaning as well as fertilization. As COO, Mr. Braatelien directed the company in using the technology developed and building international opportunities.

He served as a Senior Vice President for Genesis Media group to advise the company in expansion into overseas long distance contracts after the passing of the telecommunications act of 1996. He negotiated contracts for international telecommunications for India and Mexico for the company.

He was recruited by Trade Development and Investment of Vietnam in 1997 to go to Asia to work on project development for power plants, telecommunications and water projects. He was instrumental in obtaining a contract for TDI to build a 300 Megawatt power plant in Thai Binh, Vietnam. His work in Vietnam gave him the opportunity to meet and work with many powerful and influential people. His friendship with the surviving wife of Le Duan, the former General Secretary of the Communist Party opened many doors in this emerging third world country

In early 2000 projects lead Mr. Braatelien to Cambodia and Thailand. There is a very close intertwining between Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. The Vietnamese helped the Cambodian’s over throw the Khmer Rouge regime and helped restore democracy to the country. Cambodia was in need of major reconstruction. He worked on projects that included re-building of the railways, engineering and finance for mobile phone operations in Cambodia as well as advising on the re-construction of the Pan-Asian highway.

His strong finance and engineering background, combined with his long term dealings in Southeast Asia have given him powerful partners in both government and business and this expertise will be monumental in the Company’s success. Capitalizing on his past relations in Asia he hand selected this team for United Max International.
